I'm Director of Software Engineering for the Communications System Division of Compunetix. Compunetix makes audio and video teleconferencing and unified collaboration solutions. The division where I manage software development focuses on Audio Teleconferencing for large conference service providers and large enterprises. We have customers all over the world, a lot of whom you've heard of (these are the traditional Telcos) and many more that you have not; these tend to be companies which focus on building conference calls and may target certain niches such as the financial services industry. We also have many government customers.
My work interests include existing and emerging technologies for collaboration, effective people and project management techniques, embedded software development, web software development, database applications, cloud applications and services and efficient software testing techniques. One of the best things that has happened recently on the web is the development of free MOOCs and I try to take advantage of as many of them as I can to continue learning.
I also do a little property management and have a double duplex I rent out.
I went Carnegie Mellon University for my undergraduate and graduate studies.
I was born and raised here on a farm outside of Pittsburgh area and still live in the area with my wife Dana and our two great kids. I have a great many outside interests include photography, drones, astronomy, gardening, reading and baseball.
